  Grounds for staying
Our venue includes a theatre (seats up to 270 people), a dozen seminar rooms, the Robertson Hall (seats up to 60 people) with views over Corstorphine Hill, the Memorial Hall (seats up to 450 people), the Old Library (seats up to 30 people) with various other nooks and crannies that can be set up to suit your specific requirements. There is also a sports hall and swimming pool on site.
Accommodation comprises of a selection of large dorms (10 beds), small dorms (4 beds) and single rooms.

We have the pleasure of hosting the Edinburgh International Harp Festival each year. This is an incredibly busy event that brings harp enthusiasts and the general public through Merchiston’s door at Easter. The EIHF celebrated their 25 th anniversary in 2006 with a record-breaking concert in the Memorial Hall where over 200 harps played at the same time! “The magical setting of Merchiston Castle School and the unseasonably warm spring weather combined to create a truly special atmosphere at the 26th Edinburgh International Harp Festival in 2007” We look forward to seeing the EIHF back in 2008. Dates are from 28th March – 2nd April.
