Merchiston Castle is available for hire during school holidays for private functions. Its variety of rooms lends itself to large or small functions to celebrate birthdays, christenings, charity events, evening dinner dances, ceilidhs and so on. The Memorial Hall is an historic room, rich in character and is perfect for dancing and hosting other events. The Dining Hall can be used for groups of 100 – 200 and our catering team decorate the room according to each client group’s requirements whether it’s for a birthday celebration, formal dinner or other private function. The Old Library, full of Merchistonian history and other sporting antiquities, can be used for smaller functions. The old stone corridors & staircases between each of the rooms are ideal areas for receptions & social gatherings.

A wide range of in-house catering options are available from full waitress service to light buffets to suit the occasion. Our excellent catering team provide a first class service with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
